1 cup flour
1¼ cups aranulated suiar
6 tabfespoons cocoa
powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup mllk
4 tablespoons (½ stick)
butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla
extract
1¼ cups bolling water
Set the oven at 350 degrees.
Have on hand a deep 8-inchsquare
baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix together
the flour, ½ cup of the granulated
sugar, 2 tablespoons of the cocoa
powder, the baking powder, and
salt. Stir in the milk, butter, and
vanilla. Spoon the batter into the
ungreased baking dish.
In a bowl, mi.x the remaining
4 cup of granulated sugar with
the remaining 4 tablespoons of
cocoa powder. Add the water and
stir to combine them. Pour this
mixture into the batter without
mixing it in.
Transfer the dish to the hot
oven and bake the pudding for 30
to 40 minutes or until the top is
set. Spoon into each of 4 shallow
bowls and serve warm with ice
cream or whipped cream.
