- 2 Tbs olive oil
- 2 pounds beef sirloin tips cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/3 cup cranberry juice
- 2 Tbs soy sauce
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1 small bay leaf
Thickener
- 2 Tbs cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Directions
- Brown meat in oil on all sides
- Drain fat
- Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 to 60 minutes or until meat is tender
- Shortly before serving blend cornstarch and water; stir gradually into meat mixture
- Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
- Serve over rice or noodles
